Murano headlights?

I got a 2004 Murano about 3 months ago and noticed that the bright lights don't work. The owner before me must have put them in. When I try to put on the brights the lights just turn off. I'm thinking this is because of the blue lights. When you put the blue lights in are they "so" much better that it does away with your high beams? (even though it's not legal) Or do you think they just didn't plug the high beams back in? Or are the blue ligh high beams out?

Thanks
