I have a 97 Blazer 4X4 with a blown tranny, I can get a rebuild tranny from a 95 Safari AWD, will the tranny from the van fit my Blazer. They both have a 4.3 Vortec. Thanks for looking.

In short no, the 95 and '97 are not the same. the '97 requires a '96 and up tranny .

The interchange is 1997 only, looked up this once in an interchange called a hollander. The 1997 has the newer line fittings called a jiffy tite fittting. There is a special release tool to get the line off and there is a pain in the butt way, picking the wire clip out, losing the clip sometimes. Most parts stores will sell the special tool and most tool truck dealers such as Mac,Matco,Cornwell and Snap On.It is the 3/8" one and are not cheap,I bought one from my Cornwell dealer for $28.00.It is really simple to use, slide the plastic cover, blow the dirt out if there is any,put the the tool in and rotate it.Finally pull the line out without the tool slipping out
