A couple weeks ago my car started having problems starting. It would crank but it took about 5 10 minutes to get it started.Once it started it would run great allday until it sat overnight. Then it would have the same problem. Finally one morning it just wouldn't star.I changed the fuel pump it started fine and drove fine until the next morning, I tried to start it and it wouldn't star. I checked all the fuses and there all good.I replaced the fuel pump relay. When I turn the ignition on the pump is not cycling. Also while cranking.I can jump the relay and the pump will cycle and I will get fuel pressure at the fuel rail. With the relay jumped and cranking the engine the car still will not start.Could this be a sensor, computer, or wiring problem? Its also making a squeeking noise thats not from the belt while cranking.

What Elements do you need for a fire?
Air,fuel,and Spark!
If the air, fuel, and spark (Timing) not right, she will misfire!
4-cylinder motor - One Misfire = 25% of HP lost.:crying:
It sounds to me,that it runs good during Normal operating Temp!:loser:
The cold start-up (Choke) during morng might be the problem.
The coolant Temp sensor,IAT sensor, and Pre Oxygen sensor gives Data to the Power-Train
Control Unit (PCU) for Air/Fuel control.
I put my money on MAF,Because it compares Ambient Air with Metered Air going to the Intake.
Check also for unmetered Air from Air box to the Intake, the MAF sensor will not sense this Air,thus
giving wrong data to the PCU.
The Data from MAF is sent to PCU for Air/Fuel control.
I read somewhere, that 60% of MAF are not performing the way that there suppose too.:sunglasse
Hey!
It's better than a 50/50 Guess! + it sounds good!

The car is getting spark, but when you cycling the key the computer is not sending a signal to the relay:mad:. The power is getting to the relay, but the computer is not getting the ground to the relay:crying: .What pins can I check at the computer to check circuit to the relay:confused: It would be nice to have a pin

I'm really busy at the moment, but you can have a 1995 FLM Factory Service Manual from my web page, it's yours for free..
Pinouts & diagnostics are in there too. Look at my username for my webpage. I have an instruction for download there too.. have a look at that first.

I sprayed stater fluid in the intake and it started and died:mad: .Last night I couldn't get a code , but about a week ago I got a code telling me the egr valve was bad, but from my understanding the egr valve won't stop the car from from starting:confused: .My lincoln towncar executive(1995) has little over 160,000 miles on it.The only other thing I can think of is it has a leak under the block by the oil filter which leaks oil.Still don't see how it could stop the car from starting:disappoin

That oil filter adapter gasket does leak after awhile.. new gasket fixes that one.

Will changing the oil filter adapter seal have a direct effect on the car starting.

No.. it'll make it so you can pull up in other peoples driveways without making a mess.

COOL - It started with starting fluid ''High octane boost''
If EGR gasket or EGR valve is bad, thats like unmeter Air flow to the Intake.
It's a too lean condition and thats why she wouldn't fire.
GOOD luck Guys,I'am going to the moutains for a few days looking for GEMS.

the true answer to this is it is the idle air control valve i read that when you change the battery the comp resets and before it would comensate for a dirty valve but now it doesnt know how i had the same prob on my 01 cost a grip to get it fixed and they say it would screw it up if you try to clean it
