hey again guys i have a 1997 grand prix gtp with the 8 speaker NON bose stereo system. im replacing the rear speakers, and i need to know which wires are positive and negative AT the speakers. i know which is which from the back of the head unit, but somewhere along the line they split at a cross over and become new colors. i need the colors of the rear left and rear right 4 inch speaker. NOT the 6x9. if anyone could help id appreciate it thanks

Are you sure you dont have the bose system?

Alright, here is what I have as far as schematics. As far as I know these are the only two options available (with amp or without amp). I realize they wont help much due to the fact that they still dont show you + or - for the speaker terminals. But for some reason I could have swore that audio is transferred as AC voltage and it doesnt matter what wire is + and what one is -.

Once you open the schematics, you might have to right click and and "save image as" in order to view it full sized.

If the speakers are wired out of phase, it will cancel out out portions of the audio spectrum.

Hmmmm, good to know! How would you recommend he finds out what wire is + and what one is -?

There is one way, is to use a DVM with a continuity test. Then at the radio end find the speakers positive lead, you will have to extend the wires in order to test the wires.

im sure its not the bose system, its delco or whatever, and im pretty sure that in 97 bose wasnt offered anyway. that wasnt till 98 i think. anyway i think i have the speakers wired right, they are both wired the same so even if the polarity is backwords its not a bid deal cuz they are both like that. thanks anyway everyone
