in dash dvd

hey all, got a 2002 explorer xlt and i would like to put an in dash dvd in but all the places around here are telling me that a double din won't work. any suggestions? thanx in advance alex

i have a pioneer avic d2 in my 04 fit right in with a double din mounting kit
