02 Z24 engine swap Manual/Automatic transmission

I recently ran into a problem with my 02 Z24. At the start of the summer I developed a wicked knock and was told by several people that is is conecting rod related. Turns out the car dumped some oil and the pressure warning light didnt come on. It was also the same night that I was driving the snot out of the car. Since I ride streetbikes and it was the start of the summer it didnt bother me much as now I had an excuse to only ride my bikes. I found a guy that has an engine out of a 98 Z24 with only 70,000 km on it and he is willing to sell it to me for a decent buck. My only concern is that mine is an automatic and his is a manual. His engine comes complete with the manual transmission. I would like to know before I go pick it up if I can swap my automatic transmission onto his engine with a manual transmission and drop it into my car? I was talking to my old high school automotive teacher and he is willing to do all the work at his school to help teach the class. He also asked me to inquire about the tdifferent transmissions. Run the motor, take the engine wiring harness and ECU, and swap your flex plate and torque converter over from your old motor.

everything will bolt right up.
