3 days ago the fuel pump failed. I replaced it and the new pump seems to work fine (55-65 psi). I replaced the filter also. After replacing the pump, the vehicle seemed to be fine. That is untill I got out on the freeway!! After about ten minutes on the freeway it started acting like it was running out of gass. Now this problem happens all of time shortly after it reaches normal opperating temp.(usualy about 10-15 minutes no matter what speed you drive).I did not have this problem untill the fuel pump went out. I checked the fuel pressure while it was messing up, it was between 55-60 psi. The motor will idle smooth, but when you try to accellerate normally it stalls out. If you feather the throttle slowly it will eventualy pick up rpm, but doesn't have much power. Eventualy it will stall to the point where it will only idle again. After some research, I thought it might be the fuel pressure regulator, so i replaced it. The problem still exsists. I thought that the cat. might be plugged, so i removed it, shined a light through it and could not see any blockage. I need some more suggestions of things to check or replace. Soon!!! as I live in oregon but I am currently in Las Vegas and in 3 days I will need to drive this thing home. thank you so much for any leads.

no check engine light yet. I'm being told to replace the ignition module, but my experience with ignition modules has been that they either work or not. nothing inbetween. I think the CPI is a logical choice, but I would hate to spend that kind of money and not have it solve the problem. has anyone had this same problem and a new CPI fixed it?

did you find the culprit? I've got the same problem. no codes, new fuel pump & filter, checked for plugged cat converter. engines starts, idles but increase engine speed causes stumble and die. help, please
