on my 92 GV my engine over heated . radiator fan stopped working i un pluged the fan harness wires directly from the battery to the fan to see if the fan motor worked or not. fan dod come on so i guess i need a new one. not when it over headed i had hot water spewing up some got the battery and surounding area real wet. so l started the engine and added water it gushed up a few times more. things got wetter . so now i get back in to drive home and my abs started to work. never did before ?????????? then is started running hot again waitet some time added more water then the abs stopped working.. i thought i would start cleaning off all the electrical plugs thinking the very hot water cleaned up something so i did that. no good so why did it start working for a time then stop ??

It sounds like a bad thermostat and/or bad water pump. Get a Stant thermosat (the one that is designed to stay open when it eventually fails so the motor doesn't blow). It costs less than $20 for the thermostat, gasket and gasket sealer.

i was thinking a thermostat when the water came back up gushing. there any way to tell if a water pump is ban on a aside ways engine with out a fan on it. old days grab the fan and see if you could move the fan from left to right if you could get movement had a bad bearing on the pump.
