Well, I haven't posted any progress of any projects lately, but here's a box stock entry for this year's Tamiya/Con. I'm trying to get done within the week so I'll keep you posted if you guys want another Enzo thread. -Warren's got the full build report.
I've recently purchased the Studio27 photoetch upgrade parts from HLJ. I plan on building another one in a different color with the detail parts and another Enzo with an aero kit of some sort. Does anyone know any aftermarket tuners that have done something with the Enzo's body lines? If so, can you post images/ links? Thanks!!

As for the build up, I personally would like to see the studio 27 -PE parts inplemented.
Otherwise, good luck with this Prancing Horse !

Looking good Walter!:)
So far i've not come across any transkits for the Tamiya kit, only the Tuning 18 stuff fot the 1/18 diecast - http://www.tuning18.com/index.html
There is the S27 detail set as you know, SMS will be releasing their version later in the year, plus Museum Collection do the Nuremberg decals and there's another set of decals by Acu.Stion with the Cornes sponser logos - pic below. If i can find more details and pics of a GT version then i may do something myself.

Ditto, looking good.
Is there a danger of loads of Enzo's being at the Tamiya Con? As it is Tamiya's best kit to date. Also, the liklihood of a majority of those being red??
What's the Tamiya Con like? I wish something similar was held in the UK.
Well good luck.

Nice work on the Enzo Walter, I was just wondering what you are going to do with the marks that will be left when you clip the rest of the suspension from the sprue, will you just touch them up by brush?

Thank you all for your replies. Now to answer some questions:
The paint was done with Tamiya TS-8 shot through my airbrush. The weather has been quite cold by the time I get home from work to heat up the can and spray, so I emptied some into an empty Tamiya paint jar. Then it was sanded with fine grit polishing cloths and overcoated with TESTORS enamel. YES TESTORS!! But I used acrylic lacquer thinner to thin the enamel. Cuts my curing time to about one week. For those of you who don't know, enamels take a very long time to dry-especially glosses. The images posted have not been polished, but I will be doing some sanding as there are small flecks of dust in the paint work. I use a variety of paints for my finishes. I think I have talked about it in almost every finished kit thread I've posted. This might held you look through it- I have about 3 pages to look through as I don't post a whole lot. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/search.php?action=showresults&searchid=157890&sortby=&sortorder=
For the window masks- They are the Tamiya kit masks. I am leaving them on to prevent fine scratches on the inside. I have not put in the side glass yet so it remains black from the interior in the pics.
For the entry question- I'm not too worrried about the amount of Enzos at Tam/Con. I know there will be a handfull there, but I'm entering in the box stock category and the playing rules are the same. -No deviation from the kit instructions. I have learned that clearcoating and aftermarket decals are allowed though. So I will be using carbon decals in some areas of the kit. The grand prize (4) is a trip to Tamiya in Japan and the privelege to display your winning entry at a large hobby show. There are several categories to win in. Click here for more detailed info.
http://www.tamiyausa.com/events/tamiyacon/2003/
Ray- The detail painting is done with more masking and airbrushing once cut and cleaned of the sprue tree. I airbush about 90% of my kits including detail parts. Lots of painstaking masking:( I do touch up with a brush in some areas.
I've still got a custom chopper to do for Tamiya con. So I'm in a big rush to get things done. The bike is based off a Yamaha Roadstar for it's V-twin motor. Here's the start of it from a few months ago:http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=66689&highlight=wkma7six
Sorry for the long post, but I've tried to answer what I can at the moment. Gotta go finsh up some kits!

Some Progress, but slow. All of the Tamiya chrome has been repainted and some bits of the body are polished-unpolished areas may look pink due to sanding.

Thanks guys. There won't be Carbon decals on this one now. I did do some CF on the dash and the side cooling inlets, but decided they took too much time and went out to purchase another for its parts too be painted semi-gloss balck and used on this one. So it will be totally box stock without aftermarket decals. My second one will have CF decals on just about every noticable area and photetch detail parts from Studio 27.

I'm hoping by the next one I'll have an idea for some kind of aero kit and choice of aftermarket wheels and parts. I'm trying to think of a non tuner type of rim- kinda like the Hamann 360 in my sig. If you guys have an idea, please post.
