E4OD Hardshifting

I have a'95 F-250 with the 300 six and the E4OD auto trans. My problem is when shifting into reverse, it slams into gear. When the trans is cold it will slam into reverse but when you shift into any forward gear, you have to rev it up to get it to engage. Once it engages into forward, it will shift fine (still slams in reverse) as long as it doesn't cool down or sit for an extended time. The filter and fluid were just changed with the same result. There were no unusual metals in the pan or on the magnet. Thanks.

maybe its a vacuum problem?

I had to change the solenoid pac on my 1997 F-150. At that time they were $56.00 probably more at this time. They are bolted in with torx bolts use a 1/4 inch drive. Unplug and unbolt drop and install a new unit. You have to drop the pan to do this.
