How to DISCONNECT Car Alarm...????

Is there a way to DISCONNECT a factory car alarm on my 2000 NEON? It has been going off more and more by itself for now reason and I basically don't want to use it at all anymore. I have to go out to the car, place the key in the ignition in order to stop it.
Can I remove a fuse...????
Any help is appreciated.

It should be connected to a fuse on the driver's side panel. Try to see if you can find it and pull it out.
