My wipers are not working properly on my 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe. My driver side wiper has a cavitation to it when it rotates around. Does anyone have any experience working on this type of problem. If so could you please fill me in on how I should tear into this issue.

I had to get into my wiper system on the '98 Sub last spring for a motor issue. Had to replace the circuit board in the motor and all is good.
So, you need to pull the fresh air intake grate that sits between the windshield and hood. It comes off in 3 pieces. The 2 outer ones 1st and then the larger middle piece. Once that is off you'll see how the wipers work. 2 rods attach to the motor from each regulator.
Let us know how it goes.

Getting all the grates off was easy. I did run into an issue with aligning the wiper transmissions up properly. I replaced the driver side transmission with a brand new Delco part because the plastic base that bolts up to the metal flashing under the windshield broke off. My problem is that the wipers go down to far and hit the grate when rotating. I tried to adjust the passenger side but ran out of play on the adjustable clamp that goes over the spindle coming off the drive motor. Any ideas on what I should do to set up the two transmissions properly. Thanks!

I assume your wiper arms are like my Sub where they are keyed to the transmission shafts and can only go on one way?
Did you remove the wiper motor and/or remove the arm on the back of the wiper motor?
The only adjustments for wiper arm positions that I saw were at the wiper motor arm where the rods attach. Adjustment has to be made with the wiper motor in the park position.
