first of all, took a long trip with my caprice from Orlando to new port richi, and it was great..
Except one thing.. An hour and a half into the drive, the vents weren't blowing good, even at full blast. At full speed, I could feel the motor trying way too hard..
When turned off for about 2 minutes and then back on, it was fine again for a short time..

remove blower motor and inspect fan fins for debris.....also grill intake and fire wall for debris..

This sounds like the evap freezing over. Air will not flow through ice. Next time, add a little heat to the mixture.

thats a good suggestion as this guy is in florida I believe....this condition where I live is seldom seen....If the fan is on high I would be supprised if it could occur with a good obstuction free flow of air....
If the dewpoint is greater than 75deg f I guess anything is possible....
could also be debris on the evapoator resticting the flow of air enough to cause the freezing simular to a window unit with a dirty air filter....

if its the fan there may just be a dead spot in the motor, this happened with mine before i had to replace the motor. if i gave it a hard tap it would come back on

i also think fan moter is hitting dead spot or ready to go so i'd check that out first. because it sounds like getting hot then cool off and it works again for awhile right?

I would have to say motor time. This jives with worn out brushes and/or a damaged commutator on the armature. These motors are generally sealed and are to be replaced rather than rebuilt. Another possibility is dry bearings/bushings. Again, motor time.
Fortunately, the motors are relatively inexpensive, and for our cars they're so easy to replace, a kindergartner can do it.
I remember when the motor went out on my '75 Caprice. It required removal of the passenger fender.

At full speed, I could feel the motor trying way too hard.. Before we condemn the blower motor, I suggest we get a better explanation of what the OP was trying to say above. Was the fan running full speed, but not blowing air; or was the fan slowing down?
