Bouncing Fuel Gauge

We have a 2000 Astro, When the fuel tank is full the gauge is fine, however, when the tank is 3/4 to 1/2 full the gauge starts to bounce around. Anyone know how to fix this, we've been relying on the odometer to tell us when to fill up........let me know.

I have the same problem on my 2002. As do many other astro/safari owners. The problem lies in your sending unit that is part of the fuel pump assembly in the gas tank. The little resistance wires wear away and stop giving accurate readings. Mine works fine until it reaches half a tank and then starts acting up. Luckily I have the computer readout on the overhead console that tells me how much fuel I used. The fix consists of replacing the fuel pump assembly - a bit pricy.
