battery or not

ok,this may seem like a dumb queston to some,if my battery was completly shot wouldnt hold a charge,and i jumped it and it started then ran and as soon as i removed the cables it stalls can i assume that it is my battery it is wet on top by the caps and and my lights are not dim or nothing.

What lights are you talking about? Headlights?
If the engine dies when you take the jumper cables off you have TWO issues.
1.) Dead battery, (not necessarily bad, just not charged due to the second issue).
2.) Charging system is not working, not even enough to run the secondary ignition system.
Make sure that the battery connections are CLEAN and TIGHT.
Fix the charging problem first. It is most likely the alternator. then wiring.

If the battery is wet on top, it's usually due to overcharging, which conflicts with your symptoms :confused:
Try charging the battery for 24 hrs or so, then see if it holds a charge.
