The Mysterious Relay

Ok, thanks to everyone who is helping this straggling junior tech to understand some things about his 1992 Eagle Summit 1.5 hatch
Story goes that after 2 months no driving, fuel pump will only energize during crank, not during run, causing 10 secs of idle before stall.
I tried changing the oil pressure send switch, have read that a crank/cam angle sensor might be the issue but don't really know where to look.
Since I took these photos, let's talk about this mysterious relay:
it goes in here:

and looks like this:

Notice that the plug has only two energizing points and that the relay has only 3 prongs (i don't think one was broken off but almost looks like it)
In investigating what's inside this relay it seems that the prongs don't really even seem to function in any relation (in coil or continuity circuit).
basically what we have going to the receiving plug (pic 1) are:
TWO WHITE WIRES
The Black wire with a white stripe that tests continuity to the positive lead to the fuel pump.
Has anyone seen a setup like this? I can't seem to find these white wires leading anywhere inside the cabin, like to the computer (s). I assume they would have to be positive energized.
let's have a look at the wiring diagrams for this car:

Thanks for time and help on this
Haven't taken it to a autostore to run the check engine code (OBD I)

that diagram blew right over my mind. best of luck

is that labeled as the fuel pump relay? Cause looking at the wiring diagram, there is no fuel pump relay, per se
More importantly, I don't see how that relay could function with only three prongs regardless to what job it was given

Yeah honestly it doesn't even really look like that relay does ANYTHING, perhaps it was in there if extended options were installed, but the weird thing is the two prongs that are attached really have no relationship to eachother, no continuity and no resistance (the coil)
maybe we should just jump that bridge and see if it works.
