Hi everybody, I just purchased a 1996 Lincoln Continental 4.6L with 94K miles. It needs little TLC. Here are few of the things I need some help with:
Compressor for air suspension keeps running every 2 to 3 minuets for 15 to 20 seconds and it is very noisy. When it starts, the right front side of the car rises.
When I take off, the engine seems to kick back after that the ride is smooth. It needs front brakes and rotors. The service engine soon light is ON. AutoZone did a code scan, they told me the following:
O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 is bad.
# 1 cylinder is misfiring.
Fuel error.
The car does not seem to have any power. My 97 Lumina with 3.1 has quick response and is much faster. Could one cylinder misfiring loose this much power? Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I would focus on one thing at a time.
You can save alot of money buying aftermarket parts, and doing the repairs yourself.
Search Automotive forums using key words: Air suspenshion problems.
Example:
AF-> Lincoln > Town Car > Search this Forum ''Air suspenshion''

Had a 92 cont and have a 94 cont.
Air-rides will always need TLC.
Take the airdryer off the pump, replace the o-ring and reseat - see if that doesn't stop the cycling (due to a small leak).

Well, I had some work done on my car and it runs great. Unfortunately I held back on suspension work and yesterday my compressor finally died. Now, the front of my car is almost touching the ground. More bad news is that my wife and I have just separated and I am with 4 kids and make ends meet with my paycheck. I have to drive to work about 70 miles everyday and have no money to fix the car right now. I am just thinking if I can just replace the compressor for now, that will allow me to go to work and hopefully compressor will survive until next month and then I can replace the bags or put a conversion kit. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Put a schraeder valve (metal valve stem) into the top of the airpump, keep a full airtank in your trunk, or be prepared to stop and airup at the filling station.
The last six months before my father died, this got him back and forth to the Cancer Dr. and hospital.
A mechanic can do it in 15 minutes.
Then you can air it all the way up, or just enough.
Geez, I hope things smooth out for ya'll.
