dome light KA-NUM-DRUM

Ok....here's a tricky one, tell me if you've heard it before....

No dome lights lighting up overhead....checked both bulbs, good new bulbs....put a multimeter to each end of the bulb connectors, 12V.....put the same multimeter on each end of the bulb itself, 12V....but no light.

If the bulb is "flowing" 12V thru it, then it has no choice but to emit light.....right or wrong?

KA-NUM-DRUM....

Touching the end terminals with a meter is only going to tell you if its getting power, touch the + terminal to the negative side of the light and then ground the negative and this will tell you if power is making it through the bulb. Find out which end is positive with the light removed and test the opposite side of the bulb.

You were right....even though the bulbs arent "burnt out", the voltage wasnt making it thru the bulbs. I bought some new ones again and they lit right up. But still, if the other ones werent burnt out why wasnt the voltage making it thru the bulb?

Still a KA-NUM-DRUM.....but the issue is resolved. thanx.

The filament was broken inside the bulb or somehow disconnected.
