'95 Sebring coolant leak

Hi,
I just bought this car, 1995 Chrysler Sebring LXI ... only 130,000km on it.
I noticed that my car was starting to overheat during city driving. I thought maybe the guages were messed, as I stopped at a light, it would go hot ... I drive then it would go back to normal. No warning lights were on.
So I checked the coolant when it cooled down. It was bone dry. Weird. So I went and bought a jug of coolant and started to pour it in. The minute I did so, I could hear it coming back out. As fast as I was putting it in, the faster it was coming out. It seems to be leaking on the passenger side, somewhere underneath the engine.
I was told there is a coolant line running underneath there, I have no idea if it's true. I'm just worried there is a severe crack somewhere within the engine that so much coolant leaks out.
It came to the point that it gets so hot, but doesn't show anything on the heating gauge. I can only tell that the oil pressure drops significantly and the car will stall. trying to start it after that until it cools down is useless.
So ... just wondering what your thoughts are on the issue. Easy fix? Cost? Just would like to hear some ideas.
Thanks,
Patrick
