fuel pump

have 2000 bravada and when in stop and go traffic and when heated up pretty good engine will just stop dead. works fine after cools down. is the pump getting to hot and shutting down? if so what's the fix?

I had an ignition coil failure that would work when cold then fail after the underhood temps got hot.
Even though it showed a weak spark, it wouldn't fire a sparkplug during the compression stroke.

Eric has been having some trouble with alcohol in fuel on his Bravada.

My experience with GM fuel pumps (5 replaced in 4 vehicles so far) is that once running they stay running until you shut down hot, then not start up again until they cool down. The same symptom as vapor lock except eventually the fuel pump will totaly fail soon. Check for fuel pressure when it stalls and won't restart, the test point is before the vapor lock points so that will give you a good idea of where to go next.

Vapor locking shouldn't be a problem in a 2000 but it could be. Try using a brand of gas without ethanol and see if the problem goes away. If it does your's will be the first incident of vapor lock while running that I've heard of in a recurculating fuel system.
