This is actually my 2nd completion in 4 years....:yikes:
I finished the black 69 Charger last week..lots of pics at fotki if you check thru the links..
This Cuda started nearly 10 months ago...and I can't say I'm sorry to be done..
It was a fun build, but tiresome at times...all the small sub-assemblies went together really well during dry test runs..then the s*** hit the fan come time to glue it all together.....Anyway, after lots of foul language, I got my wish and it now sits on the shelf...
The hood changed (again..) during final assembly as the kool new AAR hood I made, decided to go belly up and went almost dead flat after painting...:swear:

http://images40.fotki.com/v1260/photos/6/63306/5550921/cuda200808002-vi.jpg
The motor, finally sitting in its home..Detail Master dizzy, pulleys and battery hardware, along with the fuel system I made up for it..Alternator "bolted" to the block with dress making pins, I ground the heads to hex shape.
http://images41.fotki.com/v1265/photos/6/63306/5550921/cuda200808017-vi.jpg
I added the last detail as an opening fuel flap/number plate. It folds down to reveal a scratchbuilt fuel neck and cap.

Thats it....there are over 100 pics at the link detailing the chassis conversion (Amt 71 Charger, shortened to suit) and all the build up, including all the diff'rent hoods I went thru.....:lol2:
Thanks for dropping by, enjoy, and by all means, post your likes/dislikes to the build. It all makes the next one better....

STUMP. That's awesome work man. The engine detailing is beautiful.
The only think I can comment about is that it's a bit of a shame about some of the texture in the paint. Get yourself a polishing kit and polish it out next time. Other than that, well done for finishing it and to such a high standard too.
I am impressed. Very nice.

Hey Kahuna, thanks man..
Yeah, I really need to get the paint skillz up there a bit...its the most obvious feature of a car build, and the part I like the least.....
Glad ya like it mate...I am fairly happy with her..

Greg,
Killer model. Good luck at your Comp. I am enteing some models in a comp here in Perth this weekend(WASMEX). How uncanny that they are both this weekend(still, it's not like I'd be able to fly over to go to the comp). I was over in Brisbane and Surfers during June. Lovely place. I'd like to go there again.
I justs aw on your Fotiki Site that the build was inspired by Frank Kokoza. Do you have his email? I used to email and ICQ him quite a lot years ago(I even used to be in on the MonoPED's Model Chats when I was unemployed...ahh the good old days(sort of).

Thanks guys..
Viccario,
Yes, it does....but not very well...... I was going to add a heap of detail in there too, but it binds on the body work along the hinge edge...so I'm happy just to leave it closed....cheers.
ale-o,
No worries mate. The diff come from the Revell Pro Stock Olds (Johnson/Supaclean)
The blower set-up is a real mix/match...the manifold is from a Funny car or Top fueler motor, the blower itself is from an old Monogram Heavy Chevy kit. I used it coz it had the mounting for duel carbs..The blower drives pulleys are from Model Car Garage, and the belt is from the Perry's resin blower set..
Hope this helps a bit mate..

Hey Nens, if you were at Surfers, you was just up the road from me...only about an hours drive anyways....Yeah, nice side of the coast, hey..
Mate, I used to have Franks details, but I need to go thru my address book..just updated my puter recently, and lost most of my contacts..:banghead: I was in regular contact with him also, but not for more than 6-8 months now...hope all is good, as his fotki acc is also closed at presant....?? I'll get back to ya..
Cheers guys
