On my 1998 Chevy Venture, the overhead Driver Information Center is completely not working. I checked the fuses and they seem to be okey. No matter what buttons I push on the DIC, nothing happens. What should I do?

I'd like to see an answer to this question, but the bad news is, its most likely the display tube that has failed. I took mine apart and I can measure the voltages going to the display, and with work, even determine what segments should be lighting up in the tube, but the tube has failed and I can't find a replacement.
Ebay and junk yards are the place to look, the part from GM is $500+
here is the part #:
driver info display module '97: 12530327 $506.98
'98-99: 10436818 $340.90
'00-05: 10307106 $340.90
You can get them new from gmparts online for about $200. I've looked for two years in ebay and junk yards with no luck.

check if you have power going to the unit.there may be a break in the wire.
looking from the back of the unit with the Display up, left to right
Use a Voltage Meter, 1pin (+) (yellow) and 8pin (+) (Orange) GND 2pin ((-)Black) I have one out of a 98 Transport i was going to do a Mod like GregA But i have a 01 :iceslolan

I had the same thing happen. I got a new one from the junkyard, and it was good to go.

Don't buy any replacement!. The fix is easy, I solved it resoldering the square surface mount resistors, near the left ending of the display. Mine was dead too.
