weak schedule, but that's what you get with a weak team.

BNaylor
08-23-2008, 12:03 AM
Nah! Weak schedule? How so? Playing the Superbowl Champion Giants twice in the 2008 schedule?

Regardless, at least pre-season game #3 turned out better considering the Cowboys beat the Houston Texans 23-22. Some major errors but IMO the 4th quarter was worth watching. I recall Dallas had the 3rd overall best offense in the NFL last season but we shall see what happens this year.

However, pre-season games really don't mean much considering the NY Giants lost their first 3 pre-season games last year but went on to win the NFC and Superbowl.

Final pre-season game. Cowboys 16, Vikings 10. Looking better. Now on to the regular season.

Ha! Ha!. Thanks for the advice SL. Thank goodness preseason is over. Are you going to start a Packers Regular Season thread? May the better team win but I always had great respect for the Packers.

The only thing I may get concerned with is people that troll or have nothing but one sided comments especially the ones that really did not participate in any of or most of our last years NFL threads in which overall we had great discussions and fun considering the competitiveness of the NFL fans.

Dallas over Cleveland, 28-10. :boink: First game of the regular season. 1-0.

From what I heard Owens had a hell of a game. I also hear Favre did too so HA! Oh....wait, that's right, he doesn't play for the Packers. :shakehead

Alright, I am doing a pregame bet on the score. Let's say Cowboys 31, Eagles 17. We'll see. :D

Good call but man what a game! It had me on the edge of my chair until the end. Cowboys 41, Eagles 37. (2-0). But too many turnovers and penalties. 380 total yards. 312 passing and 68 rushing. :grinyes:

Ahh the Cowboys thread... A miffed QB/RB exchange saved the Boys from a .500 record to start the season Will the Pack be able to continue their impressive record against Dallas for gaes plyed at Lambeau??? I think so... and this is from a Bears fan

Well, look who the cat brought in. Welcome back dude.

Good question considering Dallas is 0-5 at Lambeau Field. :banghead:

IMO it will be down to the quarterbacks and the least amount of turnovers. I think Dallas is favored by 3 points but that doesn't mean much. If Dallas wins Romo will be the first Cowboys QB to do so at Lambeau. Good luck and may the best team win.

My hats off to GB but the offense and defense just ran out of steam. Not one of the Cowboy's better games but man Barber had some excellent rushing yardage and Austin out shined TO. :grinyes:

I guess we can lay the zero wins at Lambeau Field to rest.

Cowboys 27 (3-0) , Packers 16. :boink:

Speaking of other games hard to believe it was the same Eagles defense that played the Cowboys last week. They pounced on the Steelers and Ben. How many sacks?

And the Bears loss to Tampa Bay? I bet that made Brian Griese feel good. :uhoh:......

Yeah, I was disappointed with the offense of GB. I have not seen that poor of performance from the offense yet this season. The Cowboys defense seemed to do well too. However, Cowboys MVP this game was hands down, Barber. He and his cement hair  did a hell of a job breaking through the defensive line.

Yeah Barber reminds me of something from out of the Predator movies.

Getting rid of Julius Jones to the Seahawks really opened the door for Barber to be the RB star this season.

Good luck against Tampa Bay. BTW - Green Bay is still No. 1 in the NFC North.

It's hilarious how is hair coming out the back of his helmet is a statue. I don't think I ever saw the tail coming out of the back of his head change position the entire game lol. Lot of hairspray FTW? lol

Skins scalp the Boys. 26-24.

I hate to say this but Barber looked sad against the Redskins especially compared to Portis. Too many critical turnovers. Although the last quarter looked good for the Cowboys just not enough time on the clock. But they'll get a second bite of the apple on Nov. 16.

Be honest with you, I didn't see that one coming. I really thought the 'Boys would take that one down. And like you said, Barber didn't have the game he had agianst the Packers.

Man, what a boring 2nd half for the Boys. :shakehead

That final pass to Austin caught by Crayton to sew the game up was something. But I guess a win is a win. Cowboys 31 (4-1), Bengals 22. :boink:

Week 8.

Man, what a game without Romo! Cowboys (5-3) over the Bucs 13-9. :boink: Great Dallas defense. I was on the edge of my chair the whole game. What an ending.

Week 11.

Man, I'm glad Romo is back and Barber was outstanding. :grinyes:

It looked like the Boys were losing it the past few weeks with Romo's hand injury. Payback for Week 4. Cowboys 14, Redskins 10. :boink:

Week 12.

Cowboys 35, 49ers 22. :boink:

There is no substitute for victory. 5 more regular season games left. Still a tough road ahead.

T.O. must have had a huge hard on after the game today, the way he went at his former team, the niner's was awesome. I almost feel as sorry for his current mate as much as I do for the 49'ers. Hope she has a better backfield defense plan for tonight than the 49'ers did.

Romo looked good, hands not right yet but he still has good eyes.

Romo didn't do too bad in todays game against the Seahawks. Good job avoiding sacks but threw an interception intended for TO which the Seahawks did not convert on. Good passing and rushing yardage overall. But it looks like the 'Boys may have picked up some more injuries. Barber's toe/foot and Ware's right knee. Hopefully neither is that bad and they play in the upcoming game against the Steelers. I bet Matt Hasselbeck will be sore after all those hits and 7 sacks.

Cowboys 34, Seahawks 9 :boink:

It wasn't a perfect game but how about that big "D" defense? Eli sacked 8 times! Ouch!

'Boys 20, Giants 8 :boink:

The 'Boys are now 9-5 and hopefully still in the running for the playoffs. Two more games left.

Well Bob I really had my doubts about your Boys during the middle of the season but the D is tuned up and Romo is cicking on all cylinders. I have them pegged for a win Saturday but it'll be tough against Baltimore. In the mean time, I'm hoping the Vikings lose out the last two weeks against ATL ang NYG so my Bears can make the postseason at 10-6... fingers crossed

I really don't know Chris. The Cowboys are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. Trying to figure what teams will be in the playoffs and the variables is really confusing.

The 'Boys (9-6) aren't going anywhere unless they beat the Eagles since the loss to the Ravens but Tampa Bay's loss helped. For some reason I don't believe the Eagles will roll over and play dead. The Bears are in the same situation and must beat the Texans but good luck!

The article below answers some questions.

Despite a loss to the Ravens on Saturday, the DALLAS COWBOYS are in as a wild card with a victory next week at Philadelphia. It is the first time Norv Turner has helped the Cowboys since he was coaching Troy Aikman — the Chargers’ victory over the Buccaneers on Sunday gave the Cowboys a huge break. Next up: Philadelphia.

Well your team looked better in a loss than mine did in a win, but there's no style points in the NFL. Those back-to-back runs of 75+ were ugly though. The Bears don't deserve to make the playoffs if they plan to continue like they did last night. Luckily the Packes wanted to win less than the Bears did. This will be a very interesting week 17 since a lot of teams are still fighting for playoff spots. I'm rooting hard for the Giants on Sunday. Hopefully they dont just roll over for dead after sealing up the #1 seed. Good luck against the Iggles I don't know what the hell they were doing against the Skins but they always step up against the Cowboys.

Ninja edite: At least the Packers were able to complete history by making the Lions 0-16. :D

What a blow out Alex. :shakehead I stopped watching the game after the 1st half and went out to do better things in life. The fans and media are looking for heads to roll on that game. I figured the Eagles would play hard ball but after the Bears and Bucs loss the game turned into a quasi playoff game. Even if the 'Boys did make the playoffs they would not have gone far. I"ll be surprised if the Eagles make it any further.

Not that is sad!
