Quick few tips needed

So this summer, i'm going to get started with my drifting, and i'm going to buy a genesis coupe
no hater comments on hyundai please. i know their cars aren't close to decent some of the time, but this ones' ok.
it's is going to be plain factory when i start:
228hp single turbo I-4
RWD
no LSD
factory wheels, tires,
factory 5 speed
and i plan on adding:
metal pedals(real ones, not the fake bend-the-tab ones)
weighted shift knob,
cold air intake
front and rear suspension strut bars
and coilovers.
this is just to start with.
anyways, how do you suppose i practice (like where, when, how long) and how not to get my lisence taken, and what are some recommendations for the modifications i should do to my car?

You have a lot of plans for a car that isn't even available yet.
You're going to want thicker sway bars and polyurethane bushings. You're also going to need a helmet. I'd do some autocrosses with the car first to get used to driving it on the limit. After that moving on to drifting shouldn't be too difficult.

i'll do that. (was on my do do list)
i found out recently that it's 6 speed, 210 hp, and has an lsd.
so i'm really anticipating my first experience with it.

So... you're going to buy a new car, mess with it's internals, and then go shave the paint off the quarters on a drift circuit :sly:
Listen- my current drift car is a '95 Miata that I picked up for $2300 at some dive car lot. I've driven the wheels off that thing. I drove for months before I got it into my head to drop it onto coilovers and struts. From there I've been adding stuff as necessary. Cage and bracing, seats and harness, extra oil cooler, clutch. The newest addition has been a 13B rotary that I bought for a steal at $700. The thing was just spewing smoke everywhere and he was going to toss it. Turns out it was just a bad seal and a locked up rear rotor. That's how I added more power- new engine.
The best upgrade that you can get yourself is seat time. Go take your car, drift it stock until you get a feel for it. Do doughnuts in an industrial park or better yet, go to a local track day. I love to see a hyundai wrapped around a pole as much as the next guy, but I hate to see wooden crosses on the roadside. Save your money, but the Hyundai for a daily, and buy an FR junker for a starter car. You'll earn what you get, and love it that much more.

well, i've changed quite a bit since i last posted that.
as it turns out, i don't like the genesis as much anymore, and never bought it.
i have a tiburon as a daily driver, and i really am trying to convince my parents to let me buy a old used car like a 240sx. any one, as long as it works and doesn't have any major problems... but i'm not entirely sure my parents will even let me get that 240sx shell i found. the dude is giving it away for free since he has to clear up space that the shell (his parts car) was taking up.
