Ok- it's my first post to a forum so please excuse any ignorance in etiquette I may display. :dunno:
I have been hoping to add an amp and sub(s) to my truck for sometime and after visiting every stereo shop in orange county it seems to me that the general consensus is that my specific truck has very little room for a box and therefore my available options for subs very few.
I listen to mostly hard rock, alt, etc and what i am after are some subs that; HIT HARD (tight/fast), sound clean, can play loud, and ofcourse will fit in below my back seats. i used to think I should use !0"s now I dont know bc people keep pushing 12"s.
Initially i kept hearing about alpine type s. Then rockford P2's. and now I keep hearing premiere shallow ts-sw1241d. So..... I bought 2 premiere shallows, put them into a local shops box they use for most chevy's/gmc's (i'm sure they buy mass produced boxes) and was supposed to have bought an orion HCCA-D2400 to power em.
After it was said and done the installer told me he tried but that it wouldnt power my subs (yeah, um, ok whatever) so he gave me a "better" amp instead. It is an almani f-2000, which ive never even heard of. So now i'm running bridged to a two channel amp (nominal 2ohms) instead of running two seperate "channels" (nominal 2 ohms each) to a mono block class d (the orion)
Guess what i say next. $750 later my stereo sounds like shit. How, you say? Well as far as just the subs/amp are concerned when i am listening to harder rock I swear that the 5 1/4" bose "sub" they left hooked up is hitting harder. when i listen to some rap on the radio, i must say that the premiere(s) sound much better. But I dont listen to rap so.......
I guess my question(s) is this: What type of setup (amp/sub/hu?) will provide me with the most amount of nice clean power being sent to the subs and which type/make/size/etc subs am i looking at (remember my limited space and musical preference. I had thought that 2 10" 4ohm DVC subs in a sealed box and wired to a class d mono at 1 ohm would be the best bet. Please help me out bc
I WANT TO F@#$IN' ROCK :ylsuper: and right now I am not! :frown:

I have an 8" sub 'glassed into each front door and they definitely rock. Most shops are used to bassheads and don't know about 8's or 10's for subs. Have you thought about making a box to go between the seats where the console is ?
