I have a 98 taurus wagon every once and awhile the cabin lights come on and stay on so i check all doors and even the window hatch slam them all i remove the fuse that controls them and it also controls the power windows. I leave it over night like that then i plug the fuse back in and the lights return to normal sometimes for several uses, and sometimes the next time i get in, or sometimes for months. Is it a bad switch bad factory keyless entry or am i missing something.
Now i have a question. I was doing a break job the other day and found i had rear disc breaks is there a special way to compress the caliper cylinder i guess you'd call it, the front ones were easy open the bleader valve and i got a pair of channel locks and compressed it but i tried it with one of the back ones and it wouldnt budge does this caliper need rebuilt or am i missing something.
Thanks in advance
Jeremy

Does your "Door Ajar" light come on when the interior light comes on? If so, there have been many threads on this forum about the door switch in the latch. You should try searching the forum for "ajar" keyword.
As for compressing the rear calipers, yep, again, the details have been posted in a few threads already. Please try the "Search this forum" feature from the Taurus forum main page for that one too. Maybe try the keywords "compress rear". The Search feature should be your friend.

Does your "Door Ajar" light come on when the doors are closed? I had the same problem with my sedan. You need to spray the indide door latches with WD-40 with a long spray straw on all 4 doors . The problem will be solved.
