I installed a glasspack cherry bomb muffler on my 96 blazer, but i would like my exhaust to be a little louder. If i remove the cat will this help? and if i remove the cat will this make my truck run bad?

If you remove the cat, your truck will run like crap, your ses light will be on, and your truck will now be illegal to use on public roads. Glasspacks are pretty loud already but if you want it louder, install a high flow cat. That way you stay legal and the truck may perform better. Also, glasspack break in and get louder as time goes on untill they completely burn out and become a hollow pipe.

do you recommend any specific high flow cat? and how much would a cat back system cost...around 500 600?

You would have to show me how a bunch of metal is bounced off a few wet molecules that the car will run like junk? More unspent on the reversion is going to ruin the tune?

You cannot create or destroy matter. So, it really does not matter if that is a solid, liquid or gas is all the same joke. Really, think about it.

You are just letting air out a less restricted area. Say you have the door half open and there is your breeze into the house. Say you open the door wide open and now all you really did was remove the door (or cat honeycomb metal air passes through); that convert 02 into not so bad, solid, liquid, gas out the pipe is still millions of gallons out of the ground we are now breathing say. A few more unspent molecules are not going to matter you removing the chemical reactor, (cat).

So, technically, you remove the cat, you just let the engine breath sooner is because; the engine is a pre-rated HP, meaning, bore/stroke/cam/EFI = Fuel trim my ECM.

All you accomplished wass move air quicker and brought out the same HP sooner. Or, torque being the reciprocate you being pushed in the seat a little quicker on the throttle apply.

Either a Catco or Magnaflow. A universal version should be about $50-$70. As for a catback, a custom one with the muffler of your choice shouldn't be more than $250. Dynomax makes a bolt on kit for 4dr's for $160 and Gibson makes one for $350.
