When I shut my truck off Fri eve it was running fine, Saturday, I changed out the water pump. When I went to start the engine again it just cranked, ...nothing! I figured I must have loosened a wire or something, checked all the connections plug wires etc. everything seemed O.K. still wouldnt start. Took out a plug, NO spark! This one's a toughy as all the plug wires connect directly into the primary and secondary coils from the top, and the other connections appear to be O.K. I suspect something (coil(s) computer or something else) picked this time to crap out on me. I'm hoping somebody can give me an idea of what else to check, I'd hate to buy new coils only to find out it was something else. I replaced the coil pack since there wasn't any spark but that didn' help either, something else is causing this problem

hey, i had the same problem with my ranger, i think you will find that it is the crank sensor, if the truck is turning over like it wants to start, spary a little quick start in the air filter( even tho i hate that stuff) to see if it fires, casue i thought mine didnt have spark ither

Check the fuse panel on the L/S of the dash one of them powers the ECM

The 2.3 Has a crankshaft position sensor on the lower front of engine. I would clean the connection with brake clean. Anti Freeze is an insulator its very possible you spilled some on this item. Clean throughly if it runs fine otherwise use an ohm meter it should go from zero to one when cranking. Just watch the belt I would remove for this test.
