350 TPI alternator question

Hi, im new to the 350 tpi so this is a noobie question lol, but i wanted to know how come theres 350 tpi's with the alternator on the left, and some with it on the right, i found most of them are on the right but this one is on the left do you know why ?? this is supposed to be a 1991 camaro 350 TPI engine in a 1985 firebird trans am http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o49/barra_cuda/060f_20.jpg

it looks like they took the brackets of the firebird n put em on your motor. thats a v belyt set up looks like and if it was a 91 tpi motor it should have a serpentine belt

so they just took the brackets from the firebird and put them on the 350?

thats what it looks like, a 91 should have aluminum brackest not that old style that on it now

In 1887 they went to a serpentine belt set up and the alternator was moved to the driver side. 1985 & 86 used individual belts and the alternator was on the passenger side. You have the engine from a later car using the original brackets and individual belts from the earlier years.
