Brake lights!

I have a problem with my left rear break light on my 69 Beetle.
The light itself stays on. When I press the break pedal the bulb does get brighter, like it's supposed to, but when I release the break pedal the light stays on, ( it should be off ) I changed both switches on the master cylinder, but the light still stays on.

Any help would be appreciated.
