How do you adjust the camber on a 1997 Firebird? Can you simply adjust it from under the hood or do you have to have special tools to move the suspesion.

thanks,

Jmac

They make special tools for this. Depending on how much adjustment to make you may be able to get some from under the hood. Be careful because you may have to notch out the hole the let it have more travel. this can be a time taker. Hope this helps.

There is not any stock camber adjustments. One would have to so some custom job buy a camber tool. Northstar makes one but its costs 80 bucks

In the old days caster and camber was adjustable at the strut towers, not so much anymore, for a LONG time.

You can look for a "camber kit" that is nothing more than eliptical bolts that connect the bottom ends of the struts, but truth be known, I've never lookd into one for a f-body.

I have to post to this even though the original post is kinda old. There is a camber and caster adjustment on 93 and up f-bodies. You move the lower control arm in or out at the front and back. They make a special tool to aid in the movement that works pretty good. I have also used a prybar and that worked ok too. Has to be done from underneath. Better have it on an alignment machine.
