last night when i was driving hoime from work, my car shut off. it was an instant turn off, no pre sputtering, just died. i thought i could have bent my gas gauge from when i put my new fuel pump in, but i put gas in it and it didn't help. so i then took the line off of my fpr to check for fuel pressure. have plenty there. so i bypassed the fpr and drove it for like another 5 miles and it did it again. just died. looked around at stuff, cleared the codes on the battery( so that when i turn the key it would activate the fuel pump again) and it was fine almost all the way home, it did it one more time, but started it upi right away. now, it starts up right away, but after 1/4 mile of driving it dies, sometimes its starts right back up, some times it takes a few minutes. how much fuel should spray out of the releif valve on the fuel rail? when i push the valve in only a little bit bubbles out. i dont know where im loosing pressure...... also, should i have oil in my intake pipping from the turbo? its a thin film and teh crank case breather isn't connected to it so it has to be coming from the compressor please help me!

is there some sort of regulator in the fuel rail that instead of keeping the pressure high its just flowing right back into the tank?

All cars have a fuel pressure regulator. The chance of that going bad is very slim IMO. I would make sure your getting fuel and spark once the car cuts off. Also are you getting a CEL? A sensor could be going bad causing the car to shut down.

no thats what makes me think its fuel pressure because there arent any cel's where is my stock fuel pressure regulator located? i'll check spark too

it is right after your fuel rail right on the rail.

ok, im 99% sure that my stock fuel pressure regulator is bad because when i put my regulator after the fuel rail ( instead of being inbetween the fuel filter and the fuel rail) it ran just fine.

if thats all it is you are a lucky man. I have stock extra 2g fpr if you want it.

yeah see the thing is since my car is a 95 the fpr is built into the fuel rail. looks like i'ell need a new one.

Uhhhh. You put your FRP befor the rail?? The whole point of have a regulator is to regulate fuel pressure in the rail home-e.. It dosn't belong anywhere else..

yeah i also realized that putting it before the fuel rail was pretty pointless. thats where i thought it went at first, but then i read some posts and second guessed myself. so really i dont need a new fuel rail.
