Body work finished

I had to seal around the welds with body sealant cause my welder wasn't working right and it was burning right through in some spots. I also couldn't weld that close to the window. But it won't be seen anyway and all i care is that the trunk doesn't leak.

Looks better ... but for a more lasting repair, use sheet fiberglass and resin. It's a little more work, but yields a more permanent repair. The first large bump you hit might dislodge this. You are on the right track, however. Your repair will be better if you used some sort of screen under the Bondo - did you do this?

looks good, you MAY get a few drips here and there, i was able to seal off the pass side but i still get some drips on the driver side after a hard rain

Yeah i know. But at least when it rains i won't have a rushing torrent emptying into my trunk anymore.

Yeah i did this myself. And i did use fiberglass as my first repair a month ago and it didn't work out too well cause it drizzled that night which i didn't know and it was enough to make it not dry and screw it up. I put another layer over that and it was just a mess so i ripped it out. But i figured that repairing it with metal would be more permanent though? I mean i did weld it in place like i said so i dunno how a bump could dislodge that. I had a big hole over my fuse box too and i used fiberglass for that and it worked just fine though.

Oh, is that a metal patch? Sorry, it looked like Bondo with clear hardener. If it's metal, that's the best way to do it provided you removed all of the old rust (this actually applies toward ANY repair). In that case, it looks fine.

Whew! silicon212 thought for a second I was going to have jump in here and correct you about using fiberglass over steel. :)
