All Six Coil Packs Bad??

I have an '04 Sable LS Duratec with 81,000 miles.

I get a slight stumble while cruising, then the radio display will flicker, then the a/c will go hot, radio gets quieter, and finally a check engine light.

Then it will idle very rough and almost stall at idle. Then miraculously, it starts to run perfect, then the whole process starts all over.

I always get the same six codes, each ignition coil is bad. We all know that all six coil packs can not go bad at the same time, and be related to the other issues.

Mechanic said it was a loose connector at the firewall (center top) that was causing this. Well for a while, I periodically tightened the 10mm bolt, but it would only move a 16th to 32nd of a turn. I doubted this as the culprit all along.

This problem has been occurring for almost 2 years, off and on.

Found these symptoms in another thread, perhaps it will help.

The intermittent symptoms were weird...

Multiple OBDII codes, P0351 thru P0356
Engine running rough, check engine light off
Engine running rough, check engine light on
Engine running good, check engine light on or goes out after a few miles
A/C compressor turns off and on (PCM Controlled?)
Anti-Lock Brake error displayed when coming to a stop (Stalling?)
Stalling in traffic (did this once)
Complete loss of electrical power, no lights, no door locks, no anything and some kind of relay clicking continuously under the dash (did this twice while parked, but cleared up after switching ignition on/off a few times)

Any ideas?
