Long story short, it was wet out, and i took a turn and hit a tree, luckily the damage wasnt bad at all, can this bumper be pushed back out? heres a pic:http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a367/pctvman/000_0202.jpg i think whats funny is right when i slammed on the brakes before impact, the "fasten belts" light came on haha. i had 5 people in the car too including myself, these cars are tanks i gotta say.

Aww man that sucks. Damage aint that bad i don't think though. You could probably have the bumper banged out "it looks like it might need a re-chroming, mine do as it is without hitting a tree  ". Its too bad though cuz i know you got a new paint job just recently and it looks like you'll need a new bumper filler. It coulda been worse though.

One more thing, now that i look at it did it mess up your hood alignment? That might be a pain to fix because that means the whole front was sort of pushed in.

well the fiberglass front where the grille is attached got pushed in too a little so thats whats making the hood raised a bit, the hood still closes though.

OUCH!!

Looks like more than fiberglass damage to me.
Something else is tweeked elsewhere.
I think the fiberglass damage is just the tip of the iceberg.
Have a body shop take a look to find out for sure.

That bumper is toast. I'd replace that, the header panel, the fender on the passenger side, and also the body mount for the core support at that point. When you replace the bumper, also replace BOTH of the energy absorbers. Check the frame rail at the point the energy absorber bolts to it, to ensure it's not bent.

yeah i just looked today and the fender is pushed back and the pass. door rubs on it now, i know of a good body place that did my paint so ill see what they have to say cost wise, i was thinking of getting the bumper from the scrap yard and maybe the fender too. AMAZINGLY the bumper filler never got crushed

When I read your title, I was like "nooooooo!" At least it's mainly cosmetic, and you're pursuing repair. Sorry for what happened, I've had quite a few close calls in my day from screwing around in the rain. Inches from a decorative boulder, hardly missing a lamp post, the car up on two wheels, but caught just in time before flipping it... the list goes on. Literally. I look back at my teenage years with my Caprice, and man was I a friggin idiot. I can't believe how well that car took the beating too. Anyway, good luck with repairs. I hope it doesn't cost you too much.

You know, looking at the above damage on his car reminds me of my own jaunt with Caprice disaster - that is, disaster inflicted upon a non-innocent '90 Honda Accord by a Caprice. The hood issue looks almost like mine in that incident, although my car was considerably more bent. Alas, the damage was all purely cosmetic and $300 brought it back to looking as though it was never in a wreck.

aside from making sure all my passengers were ok, next thing i did was get out to look at the dammage and mourn about that, i know you all know how our cars can be our pride and joy. i hit the tree doing no more than 25mph i think, if that were a newer, more fiberglass constructed car the headlight would have been gone, radiator cracked, hood buckled and probably airbags deployed too

Yeah i know these cars are built rock solid.

I really don't think you were going that fast. The damage is consistent with a 10-15mph hit. Remember - trees are tough - you might as well hit a parked locomotive.

Hmmm... I had a similar incident with an accord but it was in my crown vic. I just so happen to fall asleep and drift over into the next lane bumping the accord. No damage whatsoever to the vic but the accords bumper looked a mess.

I see a bump inside the glove box like something may have gotten pushed in on the firewall now too (ill check it out though). im def goin to the body place, this is probably beyond what i can do, i hate bodywork.

lol being all cool with my friends long ago when i had my truck i backed down my driveway without looking... and hit a tree. YES i hit a tree in my own yard:banghead: dont know how fast i was going but lol it hit HARD

Then on Jan 1st of this year, about 1:45 AM i was driving home at about 45 mph and i see a streak of gray shoot across my windshield. just as i say to myself "damn that was a deer! wow that was close" BAM another shoots right out and my right head lamp hits its head... the force of the impact actually cracked the core on my radiator. it caused $2100 damage.

And man, the caprice on two wheels?? I'd like to see that!Let me tell you, that was one of the scariest moments I've had with my car. All because I was trying to teach my friend in the passenger seat how important it is to wear his seatbelt. I kind of over did it.

On another note with some better info, i was able to bang out the bumper a little bit enough for the hood to close properly now.
