4T60-E interchangability--97 GP GT

It's a shot in the dark but WTH....

Would a 4T60-E from a Quad 4 bolt up to a 97 Grand Prix GT 3800 n/a?

Reason why I ask is this....I need a different gear ratio for my car. It has a 3.29 now and I desire a 3.69. I know I could change the chain and sprockets to get the desired ratio but I'd prefer something to 'drop in and go'.

BTW, not concerned with any SES lights or anything like that. Car is raced on a 1/4 mile paved oval against RWD V-8's and I need more RPM's. I figure going from a 3.29 to a 3.69 would give me about 500 more RPM's, which should put me in a decent power band. I run it in 2nd, and I max out at around 4200 at the ends of the straights and it dips down to about 2800 in the corners.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why don't you just run a shorter (smaller diameter) tire? Same effect, but much less work. If you're determined to do the trans swap, I'm not sure if the bolt pattern is the same or not. You may need an adapter plate (similar to the old BOP to Chevy bolt pattern adapter plates used back in the day on RWD cars).

Forgot to mention, I'm running a 195/60/15 tire on the left and 225/60/15 on the right....helps the car not push in the corners. Car came with 215/60/16's.
With the 195's on all 4 corners, car bottoms out in one of the turns.

We're limited to 60 series tires. If we were allowed 50 series it wouldn't be as much as a problem.

BTW...running the car against RWD V-8's.
