1991 Escort fuel filter

Where is the fuel filter on a 1991 Escort located?

Its mounted on the firewall to the left & below the brake master cyl. When you replace it make sure you replace the plactic retainer clips on the hoses. They might look ok but they get brittle & could fail later causing a FIRE.

Don't even start this job without new clips. The old ones will break when you remove them.:nono:

While searching for something else, I came across this brief guide to fuel filter replacement on the '99 Escort. The thread is ancient but probably worth reading for anybody doing the job for the first time.
