RC211V-06 No69

This is a kit I built a couple months ago, but thought I would post as a work in progress, as it is a shame just to post finished photos. It was my most challenging build to date, but good fun.
I used the Studio27 trans kit, Crazy Modeler photo etched set, and the Top Studio wiring set.

sorted some more photos, the detail on the Studio27 set is very good and very accurate to the Hayden bike, the engine detail, the over sized rear brake, the different frame.

What are those references? Part of something or bought separately?

Nice work by the way, love the "real" look of the engine and frame, frame tho look a bit to dark, maybe because of light.

The reference of the detail is about the Studio27 set which I bought
separately from the Tamiya kit. The frame is just white metal, that I cleaned up with different grades of polishing paper.

Was your ST27 Frame tweaked, or mis-shaped?

This is gonna be a beautiful and very real build. It seems that this zero custom paints are very very close to the real ones. What paint did you used on the engine?

I can't wait to see more pictures!!

Yes the frame took alot of re-shaping to get it all to fit together, it took a few hours to get the frame together and the engine to fit in, great fun!!

I used AlcadII for the engine, steel and pale burnt metal

Superb job. Looks like you got nothing less than needed to do the best, and you're using those aftermarket stuff great. I'll follow.

Everything looks great I haven't build a bike but am looking forward to thay look like a lot of fun

What a fantastic work with the carbon fiber! And those cowls are great! Just the shine that I was expecting.

very nice and lots of detail...love it but I think some of the silver parts look quiet poor, especially on the front cooler and the tank ? looks like rubbed of paint and primer looking through ..any chace to fix this ? brings down the overall lokk a bit because its a very prominent part.

The effect on the radiator is weathering, if you see the real bike it has a worn look to it, on the tank it is the reflection, it is an even paint finnish in the flesh.

Did you put the decals straight on the zero paint or did you first clear them?

I clear coated first, then put the decals on, then clear coated over them.

Great. What have you used for the brake fluid canister insulation?

Great great build! I like the bike stands too, where did you get those, how do you make the wheels?

Hi Joel, the insulation for the reservoirs was made from a tamiya polishing cloth, coloured using a black indelible pen.
Alex, the stand came with the Studio27 set, it is made from white metal, the wheels are clear plastic, I just painted them with Tamiya clear orange. you can buy the stand set separately.

Did you paint right over the grey primer or did you first lay down white primer?

I used the etching primer for the resin bits, then used three or four white base coat over that, , then the colours on top of that. I have found though, that the Tamiya fine white primmer seems to work better on the resin.
