PCV Valve

I noticed that in order to replace the PCV valve on my 2000 V6 you have to take off both the upper and lower intakes. On cars I've owned in the past, this is a routinely replaced part. Is there something different about this one? How often should it be replaced. Seems like a huge ordeal to replace a $15.00, routine maintenance part.

Thanks

Harold

I don't believe there is a maintenance interval for the PCV. Unfortunately, it seems the PCV outlasts the rubber elbow.
