Clunk when cranking steering wheel at low speeds

Hello,
On my 06 when I'm driving at low speeds like 10mph or lower and I crank the wheel all the way left or right and back again, like when I would back out of the driveway or parking in a parking lot, there's a fairly loud clunk.
It clunks when I turn the wheel and then again when the wheels straighten themselves out.
Any thoughts on what it might be? Tie rod maybe? Or maybe the steering box?
Thanks!

gm had trouble with there intermeddiate shafts on there steering columns i suggest you check it for recall at the dealer but besides that tierods, strut bearing plats, sway bar links/bushings are all possiblities maybe take it in for a estimate at the local front end shop they tell u what it is and u fix it

Thanks for your response. I found this: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Pontiac/G6/2007/steering/clunk_or_snapping_noise_from_steering.shtml
Do you think that could be it? Seems to be the same symptoms.

If it's the I-shaft problem as described above, there is no recall. But there is a TSB. My car (05 G6) did the same thing. When I took it to the dealer, they repositioned, and lubed the I-shaft. Problem went away for about a month. Then I noticed it again... Brought is back to the dealer. This time they told me the steering box, or rack was faulty. Wanting a second opinion, I took the car to my mechanic.
He informed me of the TSB on the I-shaft. He checked the front end of my car, found no issues, then lubed the I-shaft. Clunk went away again. This time..I was told that the clunk would return. So.. I expected it. And it did come back. Now, I just lube it myself. It takes about two minutes.

It was the steering shaft. They replaced it yesterday and all is fine. Out of curiosity, if it's a 2 minute job to lubricate yourself, where exactly on the car is this done and specifically what kind of lube do you use?

Gm is actually in process of recalling the I-shaft if not a recall a TSB on the i-shaft for a replacement. The new shaft will not require it to be lubricated if i remember hearing correctly.
