Window Switch gone batty

When I got in my car the last night to drive home from work, I noticed that the driver's window switch panel was loose, which was not before, and I had a sense of dread about my windows which unfortunately was justified with my driver's side window not responding. The driver's side switch is now making a clicking, which you can feel through the panel (normal usage on the other switches is solid, no clicking), when you push to go down and there is no response. The odd thing is that I tried it again when I got home and the Intrigue did its thing and fixed the problem (although the panel is still kinda loose). But when I took off this morning, the problem manifested itself again, only after the window made it down a couple inches and has not fixed itself again.

So the short: is loose driver's switch panel; only one switch does not work (the driver's side window switch); and that switch clicks as though it is just off track or just missing the contact.

The clicking sound you hear is normal. It's a relay inside the switch which controls the auto-down function.

Doesn't sound like a bad switch or motor to me. Sounds like a wire is loose... Have you taken the window control panel off to see if a connector has come loose?

Good guess, it was the motor. (luckily still under warranty from an earlier regulator replacement) That clicking seems a whole lot louder when there is no moving window noise to accompany it.

Well my guess was totally wrong, but I'm glad you solved it!

Yeah, I tried editing the post after I reread yours, but no luck. Unfortunately the place did not properly reattach the window switch control panel and it keeps coming loose. Any suggestions on how to reattach it glue-wise? (short of going back to the mechanic) I was thinking Gorilla Glue myself.

Yeah, I tried editing mine too... :iceslolan

Gorilla glue will only work if you have some way to clamp it down really good, because it foams up as it dries.

What exactly is broken on it? There should be a plastic hook at the top and a metal clip at the bottom. Are those still in tact?

It looks like one of or the plastic thing at the top is broken off; the console did have more movement than usual before I took it in. Been too busy to try and fix it, but it looks like it will take an adhesive to get it to stay in place. What should I use?
