My corvette has been sitting in my garage since May. I have a back problem so I can't get it ready to drive but yesterday I noticed a large pool of transmission fluid under the car. The car has not been started so what would cause the fluid to leak out? As soon as I am better I will get under and look but I was curious if anyone else had this problem. Thanks !

How long has it been sitting? If for a long while a seal could have shrunk but there is not a way with out really getting in and looking at it. Good luck with it and Hope you get better soon. I almost bout a Vette Before I got my current car.

It has been sitting since last fall I do start it every couple of months and move it around the driveway, Anyone have any opinions on transmission sealers ?

Many times, like with engine seals once you drive it a bit the seals will expand back. Was it more like a dripping pool of fluid, that would be like a spot overnight or did it look like someone took a quart of trans fluid and poured it under the car.

It looked like someone took a quart of trans fluid and poured it under the car. I did check it after the first time it happened and couldn't see any drips and then it was like you said, it looked like someone took a quart of trans fluid and poured it under the car.

I have a 1993 LT1 and it had the same problem, I replaced the transmission oil filter and put in a new pan gasket and the problem stopped. If you do this make sure to tighten the pan as you would a flange, starting with a bolt on one side then the one across from it and so on, otherwise you will not get a good seal and the leak will come back. Good luck
