Well I started pulling the engine this weekend. I've just got to finish disconnecting the wire harness and transmission and I think I've got it. My buddy will be getting me an engine lift for next weekend. Thats when I hope to have the whole thing done by!

I don't think he is doing a swap. With the 300ZX, Nissan took an engine bay that would work with say, a small four cylinder motor, and then shoved the biggest physical engine they could in there. To replace the turbos, you'd have to pull it.

^^^ DING DING DING! We have a winner!
I have to replace the turbos. The ones in it are warn out, and the driver side turbo has blown a seal so my exhaust is now an oil line! You thought sea foam was bad...
I actually found a guy who did an LS1 engine swap (http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/uscc/0711_sccp_ultimate_street_car_challenge_2007_conte nders/photo_29.html). He was featured in SportCompact. He's got more room in the engine bay then I do!

makes sense. I did see the thread with the new (to you) turbos and was curious where they went. I know nothing of Nissan, hence my ignorance.
That does seem pretty stupid that an LS1 fits in the bay better than the stock motor... nissan engineering at its best.

Yeah, you should start one in the project car forums.
Anyhow, found the OEM rad cap huh? I wish I could have found mine because Japanese lettering adds a minimum of 5 hp per character. Not only that, it's a sleeper add on since people can't see. I know when I see a car with Japanese lettering I don't even get near it cause' that's a major ass beating waiting to happen.

I don't really think the 'Busa is really all that threatening.

I'm talking more about highway races. And while the average car, no, won't run 10s or nines, last time I went out to Ennis, they had cars that weren't trailored in running 8s and driving off, and a TT LSx Camaro go to a low seven, and then leave under its own power.

I just love the damn things. Yeah they are the Corvette of bikes, where EVERYONE thinks they are amazing. But maybe that just means its a great machine?
I do agree that they are a bit overhyped, they have built up a crazy reputation that no bike can ever hope to live up to, not even the Busa.
But when you see a bike run a 9 on one wheel shooting flames every time it shifts is very persuasive.

The reason every went ape shit over the 'Busa was because of the damned near but not quite Supercar performance for 10k. But it really is the 'Vette of bikes, simply because it was lightweight (well, all things considered) with a ton of power.
Still, I think they are overrated. I've seen more videos of Turbo'd LSx's, Poopras, 911 Turbos, Skylines, BMW M3s and M5s (you gotta look but they are out there), some FDs, Evos, and Cobras whuping the piss outa bikes from a roll, and a good number from a dig as well. Busa's are cool in name, but in practice, I think they have been overhyped so much they have lost some of the luster. Ugly as all sin, too...

It takes a lot more than 600whp to get into the 8's in the 1/4 mile. Unless its in a tub chasis drag car that weighs 2000lbs.
Busa's actually really shine on the highway, that is where you will get in trouble with them. 700whp will usually beat them on the highway, and plus you usually don't see people driving them to full potential. I've seen many 11 second busa's at the track.
Most 106mm and bigger turbos will spool around 5500rpms with 400+ cubes.
Look at the outlaw 10.5w cars, they run around 400 cubes and spool twin gt47r-88 turbos just fine.
By the way nice 300z, I almost bought one back in the day, I like those cars.

Greenblurr that was the first post I have seen you make that didn't make me want to puke.
Jk
Anyway, I wouldn't be acting like an asshole if the following this didn't happen
1. Not getting band for stating an opinion, it must be even easier to ban me than it is to reregister (which takes 30 seconds)
2. If the second I came onto this section I didn't get ganged up on by 4 butt buddies that drive a cavalier, that worked on a friends deisle truck (which obviously has the biggest intercooler that can be possibly made, and if this mythical intercooler is bigger it must be far less effiecient). And a couple other turds that drive turds.
I posted some things about my vehicles and I also complemented others on their vehicles. All I ever got were jealous remarks toward my vehicles, and people slamming me because they must know my life story.
So I must say this will be my last post in this section, for I will be back but you will not know it is me and will therefore I will be posting as I normally would and be less likely to be banned instantly.
Please do take something out of this and treat others how you would like to be treated and don't jump up the ass of the first new guy that comes in here. He may be new on this forum, but if number of posts had anything to do with actually racing, well then that wouldn't be the world I want to live in.
Moderators if you want to clean up this post that is fine but please don't delete is as this is my fairwell and it is a stop to my bs. So let's agree to disagree.

1. Banning you takes about the same amount of time.
2. Diesel intercoolers are huge. This is because they push large amounts of boost and also, they have high compression. Let's just say they flow a lot of air. That being said, they aren't inefficient, not on a diesel.
Now, you were banned for you lack of tact. The members you personally attacked have been here a while so we don't like it when new people come in and make the comments you did. Also, I saw your posts, they were not the instigators.
