Yep, With all said and done... should be pushing the car deep into the 11's.

today in lab class i hooked up the scan tool on to my car and realized that i was only running at 88% throttle opening when i floor it. after i adjusted my throttle cable, i'm at 91% throttle opening. before i discovered that problem i was running a 15.5 on 1/4 on my g tech meter.

It runs 14.87@109mph

It's a turbo. It has a vinyl roof and a bench seat. It's funny how slow it looks, and how fast it goes. It has a bump in the hood and aluminum wheels. It has dual exhaust (mine does). It has a column shift auto. It goes 12.02. Beware American technology.

Mines in the signature and if I can this weekend coming may take it back down the strip. With the recent increase in power and a prepped track should see 11's.

i've probably got below 100 hp/torque, most likely quarter mile in 18 seconds or more :). Don't think i'm gonna do any mods until i can afford a 4A-GE 20 valve, 4A-GZE or a Formula Atlantic engine swap ;).

Okay, these power numbers are rough estimates. But they're based on the best information I have.

1970 MGB GT

1.8L OHV inline four. (yes, pushrods)
Aluminium head, iron block.
Solid lifters, 8.8/1 compression pistons.
ANSA 4into2 header & stainless steel exhaust.
used Weber 2bbl carburettor (4CV model, if I'm not mistaken)

Rough power guestimate: 170hp. Not bad in a car as light as my Layla.

And by the way, she's never EVER going to see a dragstrip. 12seconds of racing is not my idea of fun.

thats if little Layla could get her little bumm through the lights in under 12 seconds ;)

Not to mention the traction problems you'd probably have dumping the clutch to run such a time... hehe

But we know Layla isnt built for the mighty:rolleyes: quarter mile... she's been put on this earth to go around corners at break neck speeds!

15seconds, and smoking those 4inch wide bias-plies all through second gear.

You hit the nail on the head. Though I bet that if I could get a reasonable price on a lug-spindle (as opposed to wire spindle) MGB GT and a Rover V-8, then I'm sure that 12seconds won't be too far off.

Ford 5.0L Crate motor 285hp ( underrated) I read an article in muscle mustang and fast fords where they dynoed my same combo at 300hp at the flywheel

Mods are heddman long tubes 2.5in exhaust all the way back to dual flowmasters, 2.5in Dr. gas X-pipe, 2in carb spacer.

I was runnning mid 13's on street tires and no traction. I should be in the 12's this spring after I get my new suspension set up.

ok let me put myself out there under the spotlight.....no engine mods....just suspension mods and with the d15b1 engine in my 90 honda civic hatchback standard making 70hp and about 59 to the wheel...i believe with my 4-speed tranny i'll probably be running....i dunno....+18 at the track.....gotta take the '00 Durango SLT Plus out to the track and see what it runs

I have 225bhp and STILL only get 200lbs of torque....and I have a Turbocharged AWD 2.0?!?!?!

'90 Firebird, 350 crate motor ('91 Caprice), k&n filter, catco C-converter, JET chip and the full interior it ran a 15.8 @84. I just got done putting in 350 truck injectors, and ripped out the back seat and back carpet and spare tire and took out most of the big stereo stuff that was in there. also getting a set of BFG drag radials instead of the radial t/a's to see if we can get it to hook up, and I got a shift kit that waiting for warmer weather to be put in ;) I'm guessing mid-low 15's and touching 90mph, hopefully. saving up for a cam and a new intake, and gonna port and polish the heads to try and make it into the 14's.

The Formula Atlantic engine is a highly tuned 4A-GE. Its a 1.6 liter naturally aspirated engine producing 240 hp@8500, 136 torque@7600. Its used in the Toyota Formula Atlantic Series. I'm never gonna own one though because they are quite expensive.. ;)

Arre we talking 60' time i like that cause i dislike awd withha passion.. how about this the Auot (art carr built tranny) Ws6 with stal/ prperstr/ shiftkit, gears and nitto's 1.5x every time i've never seen 1.6 or higher


as for 1/4 mile i won't bore you with out usning the Nos on both hi-po gm's

If your getting 1.5's 60' times your car should have enough poke to run mid to low 10's especially with a slush box. :rolleyes:

Hey nice launch RazerGTR! Looks like you hooked pretty well. What were your 60' times?

My best on the day was 1.688 and ironiclly I did not have my quickest pass as third was getting pretty buggered by then or at least I thought. It seems I may have a slightly bent shifting fork as under normal driving no issues going into any gears weird.

I was leaving the line at 5,700 rpm and had virtually no wheel spin. As you can see from the photo she was trying her hardest to pull the front wheels completely off the ground. Not too bad for daily used street tyres.

Best run was a 10.32 @ 146 m.p.h. on slicks on bottle

Just bought a Skyline though and a massive turbo for it...hoping to blow the Supra off the track by August. It will be halfway done for the Hot-Rod Power Tour at the end of May so if you all are around come see it
