Hi I searched to find the thread topic on this as I am sure alot of people were wondering why the owners manual for 2006 Corolla LE 1zz engine states:
Tighten Drive-Shaft bolt every 15000 miles
Where is it?
To what Torque? The one thread I found with this exact question led to no answer.
Any help would be appreciative.
Thanks,
Dan

Here is a guess as a response.
I am guessing that it is a unedited out maintenance requirement from when there was a propeller shaft, such as in an all-trac vehicle. Then there is a flange with bolts connecting the transfer case to the rear and front propeller shafts (drive shafts). May also be unedited from a JDM model.
There are many such errors in the maintenance manuals and probably owner's manuals also.

thx for the reply, so is it pretty much safe to say that in a 2006 Corolla you wouldnt need to tighten any sorta drive-shaft bolt anywhere then in your humble opinion?
Thanks again!
Cheers.

only drive shaft that I can think of is the half-shaft......but I dont think it uses bolts.....just a "stake" nut

them dumb*** engineers are talking about checking the cv nut every 15000 miles. in case it backs off to the cotter pin.which i have seen some do, as they are torqued to some spec not impacted on.but most have to be impacted off.
