1997 taurus speedo and tach

I have a 1997 taurus 3.0 automatic. My speedometer and tachometer both quit. I have checked fuses and found nothin wrong. Could it be the speed sensor? The tranny shifts just fine. Im not sure what runs the tachometer.

Try searching the forum for similar issues. There have been a fair number of people that have had issues with the instrument cluster. I believe most have been found to be related to the flex cable between the connector and the gauges.
