this is my first, what i will be calling a review/w.i.p or rwip for short

if this way of reviewing/wip goes over well with you guys, then be looking for future reviews/wip in this format!

here is how the format will be (not necessarily in this order)

1.i will show pics and there will be a short synopsis's after each pic describing what the pic.

2.i will also have a little history about each vehicle

3.i will also list how many pieces is contained (approximate if need be)

4.a skill level will be provided, if one is not i will offer my own judgment as to what the skill should be. (this will of course change as my modeling abilities improve!

like i mentioned above, all of this may and will change as i figure out a better way to implement this so called hybrid!

so if this seems all out of wack, bear with me as i will be making constant changes as i begin working on the kits!

ok, lets get this review/wip started!

1.first a little history (pulled straight from the wiki!)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raminator_(truck (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raminator_%28truck))
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn130/bark40oz/250px-Raminator06.jpg
In 1986, Tim and Mark Hall of Thomasboro, Illinois officially formed 'Hall Brothers Racing', and began campaigning their first creation: the "Heavy Metal" tracked monster truck. The team soon acquired sponsorship from remote control car manufacturer Kyosho (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyosho). The Halls then created the "Big Boss", their first venture into the world of more traditional "rubber tire trucks", a.k.a. monster trucks as they are known today. "Big Boss" was the first monster truck to derive its paint scheme from that of an RC car, as opposed to the other way around. The "Big Boss" was destroyed during a race in 1991, around the time their first true tube-chassis race monster truck was completed. The truck debuted as "USA-1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA-1_%28truck%29)" as a partnership with Everett Jasmer (with Kyosho and True Value as sponsors), the truck did not run for long with that particular monicker because the Halls wanted to go back out on their own.
"Executioner" would be the new name for the Halls' truck, which went on to campaign very respectably in USHRA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USHRA) (92-Feb 02), Special Events' Penda Series (92-96), USA Motorsports (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=USA_Motorsports&action=edit&redlink=1) (93-98), and ProMT (00-01). Several custom race chassis built by Hall Brothers Racing carried the "Executioner" nameplate during these years, at first using GMC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC) and Chevrolet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet) bodies, and eventually switching to Dodge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge) bodies just prior to the millennium. The truck featured a recognizable black & white (later changed to red & white) checkerboard paint scheme, designed and painted originally by Tim Hall and close friend and associate Darrell Wagner. The truck adopted a far more radical paint scheme in 2000, which featured flames, tribal pinstriping, and detailed airbrushing. This scheme appeared on the Dodge bodies only.
Seeing the success the Halls were having as privateers in the monster truck industry, Dodge decided to return to corporate sponsorship of monster truck racing after a nearly six year hiatus (Dodge had formerly sponsored Fred Shafer's Bear Foot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_Foot_%28truck%29) team from 1992-1996). After a year of scouting and preparations in 2001, the Dodge division of Daimler-Chrysler signed a three year deal with the Halls. Hall Brothers Racing debuted the first Dodge Raminator truck at a USHRA event in the Pontiac Silverdome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Silverdome) in January of 2002. The truck ran one more weekend with USHRA, then ceased to compete at any more USHRA events. This would subsequently gain strong support from fans who disagree with Clear Channel Entertainment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_Nation)'s spectacle-oriented shows. The team would return to Monster Jam in 2007.
With Mark Hall driving and brother Tim Hall serving as crew chief, the team won 4 of 7 ProMT races in 2002 on route to earning their first championship. With strong showings at Monster Nationals and Special Events races that year as well, along with the addition of the "Rammunition" race truck piloted by rookie Dale Benear, the team exceeded Dodge's expectations.
In 2003, the Halls entered a streak of dominance that had not been seen since Team Bigfoot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigfoot_%28truck%29)'s 4-straight Penda Series championships. That year, the team clinched the Monster Nationals and Special Events titles (the ProMT series took a hiatus). 2004 would see a repeat, as Hall and Raminator clinched yet another Monster Nationals championship and the combined ProMT/Special Events title as well. 2005 proved to be an even further extension of the team's dominance, as Hall would once again claim the Monster Nationals and Special Events championship honors. These feats on-track combined with the team's ever growing fleet of trucks and dealership appearances would incite Dodge to renew the team's sponsorship through 2007, with an option for further involvement after that.
In 2002 the team started with one truck (HBR004 chassis as "Raminator") and four team members: Mark Hall, Tim Hall, Dale Benear, and James Wheeler. Since that time, two additional race chassis, a display-only chassis, and a ride truck chassis have been completed and put into service. Currently, Mark Hall pilots the HBR007 "Raminator"; Geremie Dishman in the HBR005 "Rammunition"; Tim Hall remains head crew chief, while crew member Mat Dishman round out the team's program. As of March 2008, team members Dale Benear (driver), Kyle Doyle (ride truck driver/crew member/ occasional driver), Travis Howard (crew chief/transporter driver for Dale Benear), and Darrell Wagner (show truck operator) had departed the team for various reasons.

now on to the review baby!

2.this kit is a 1/24 kit and a skill level 3 based on lindbergs rating system (lindberg tacks on 3 levels of difficulty to there models, 1 being the easiest and 3 being the most difficult respectively). there is not a official labeling of how many parts but i would say there is approximately 175 pieces on 11 (yes 11) sprue trees. nine being molded white and two being clear. so this is a huge kit! also, the plastic is nice and strong, everything in my kit was still connected to the sprue so i didn't have any thing jingling around in the bags! woohoo! the detail on the pieces are impressive also, they wasted not a resource when designing and producing this kit.

i am fully impressed with the molding and detailing, with a quick skim over the body i only see a few flash and not a single mold line!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the box its self is huge for a 1/24 model (here is a pic of my cat sitting next to the box for reference)
a nice bonus is that the outside contains multiple pics of the real1/1 car so the box itself can be used as a resource on the detailing!
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn130/bark40oz/modelcarpics033.jpg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.the decals are impressive and bright, this pic doesn't do them justice, the remind me of the cartograf decals that came with the tamiya repsol honda valencia rcv211'03 kit!
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn130/bark40oz/modelcarpics024.jpg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4.instructions baby!http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn130/bark40oz/modelcarpics031.jpg

the instructions are laid out perfectly, they are in black and white with a nice amount of reference pics of the actual model to show you what yours should look like at that exact moment in time.
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn130/bark40oz/modelcarpics020.jpg

::::::as a neat bonus they give you a sorta"intermission"!::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::

5.the tires are a real rubber from what i can tell and are also humongous!
heres a pic comparing a normal 1/24 tire!
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn130/bark40oz/modelcarpics029.jpg
how awesome is that!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6.also, when they say 1/24 i think that may have been a misprint as the body its self is huge, check this bad boy out!
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn130/bark40oz/modelcarpics030.jpg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i truly can not give a recommendation based on the construction as of yet as i have not started to put it together, but if you prefer to purchase your kits based on condition, quality of of cast, number of pieces andso on, i could not recommend this kit enough!

my first verdict i have come too based on a materialistic view, i give it a 9 out of 10, i say this because a 10 is almost impossible in my book. nothing is 100% perfect!

now on to the build! to be started tonight!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

well thats all i have as of right now, i will be updating this thread as i actually start working on it, man i can not wait to start this big ass fella!

if you guys can think of anything else i can add to the review part to make it more complete and informative, please let me know!
