1995 Gulf GTR's

According to the livery list the 3 1995 Gulf GTR's were chassis no's #02R, #04R & #08R.
We also know that #04R is supposedly destroyed, though one scource claims that although not rebuilt it's remains still exist somewhere.
So do we know the whereabouts of #02R and #08R?
Cheers.

02R - is rumored to be still somewhere in the UK
08R - is now road registered and owned by Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (Crown Prince of Bahrain)
04R - I don't think that it is destroyed as it was used (according to some sources) to replace the crashed 14R in the last round of the 1996 JGTC at Mine

#02R isn't listed as having a known-to-us location in my 'Location of GTR's - Index' (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=753270) thread apart from being somewhere in the UK, but we believe -

I contacted someone about #02R when this image surfaced a couple of years ago:
http://img181.imagevenue.com/loc447/th_65224_002R_12_122_447lo.jpg
They replied to my inquiry with a future promise of information that was never received and I don't believe I ever followed up on it again. I will have to dig around and see if I can find that exchange and try once again.

Yeah, but you used to be sure the Barazi F1 was #049 and also used to tell us there were no black LMs too. ;)
Actually, that would make for a pretty funny thread - to go back through the forum and find all the things that were incorrect over the years. :grinyes:
In my column there have been more than a few. The one that sticks out the most was my long-running assumption that #038 was really #075. Oops...
I think we have gotten better at this - at least I know I try to make it clear when something is speculation versus known fact these days. Hopefully the rest of you try to do the same.

I was told Barazi's F1 was a 1996 car by the guy that was selling it. I took his word for it. I'd hardly say I was wrong about it.
Info on 02R came first hand from someone who saw the car in storage. Unless there's another blue GTR with yellow wheels we don't know about...

02R :- Chris is correct on this.
04R :- I know where it is, but I am not at liberty to tell anyone. Sorry.
08R :- As above. But I will add, that it was used to replace 14R in Japan.
None are in their original livery, shame.
Mr Barazi,s F1 has had an interior refit, if I am not mistaken.

Le Man - Barazi's F1 certainly had an exterior refit as it was originally blue. No knowledge here on whether that is the original interior in the car.

I am so pleased that someone else can confirm that #04R is instorage somewhere, it confirms what I was told earlier this year but again the person who told me can not divulge it's whereabouts. I'm just happy that it still exists.
Can you confirm whether it was still in a state of disrepair or as it been reassembled?

There's very limited content out there on the '96 LARK cars, so I might have something from Mine and just not know it. Perhaps that book on the JGTC that Archangel owns has some specific content that he can share? I meant to grab a copy myself and have not yet.

This sort of text can lead to confusion. It should read as, 08R replaced 04R in the GTC Motorsport team. As 08R never gave up its chassis plate. 04R was sent back to McLaren after the Jarama (95) crash and was never seen again.
I have even stated before, on this forum. That 04R was used at Mine 96. But that was by going on the evidence I had at the time. I just need some pics from Mine to prove beyond reasonable doubt. It took me ages to prove to you guys that it was 11R and not 07R, that Mercedes used for their test mule, as stated by McLaren. I also provided an article that showed 08R as the West adrenalin car, more on this chassis later!!
This is the only Mine pic I have found.
