I have a 97 sohc. I already installed a crane cam, mopar comp., header/intake, tru time gear, etc. and now I think I want to try increased compression. I work at a parts store and I was looking in a sealed power book. From what I can see the sohc and dohc pistons have the exact same measurements (bore, pin, etc.) but the dohc piston has a .035 raised top. I want to try a piston swap. Has anyone attempted this before? If not, maybe it should be looked into. The replacement pistons are $140-150 for the set brand new. If anyone knows why this wouldn't work, please stop me before I pull the head off:iceslolan I've got a set of accel injectors(don't remember how much bigger) add in two steps colder plugs and this could make a lot of power for under $250! Any imput would be appreciated.
Thanks-

DOHC pistons swap right in and will increase your compression. Bigger injectors DO NOT add HP and you don't need colder plugs.

Any idea how much power that would be good for/ what it makes the compression ratio? Do you think the gains are worth the investment?

Compression should be 10.3:1. It won't make much difference until you do more to the engine.
