engine/tranny compatibility

I have a 1993 Chevy truck with a 4L60E tranny, I also have a 1979 Chevy 4 bolt main enigine that I rebuilt a few years back for a street stock racecar. My question is can the '79 350 bolt up to the newer tranny? Thanks
